The headline: we collect almost nothing

SPEAKEASY is built on an anti-bias architecture. We collect zero demographic data — no gender, no race, no age, no birthdate, anywhere in the system. This isn't a preference setting; the database literally has no columns for it.

What we collect from speakers

Email address (for sign-in and account security), name, city/state, your video link, photos you upload, your six answers, fee range, booking speed, topic tags, and an optional booking calendar link. Everything except your email is published on your public profile — that's the point of the platform. Your sign-in email is shown publicly only if you choose it as your contact email.

What we collect from clients

Clients don't need an account. The Find-a-Speaker wizard stores the text of your six answers and your budget/timeline filters, anonymously, so we can measure demand and improve matching. Don't put personal information in your wizard answers.

How matching works with your data

Match ranking uses only: the six answers (both sides), topic tags, fees, booking speed, and location/format logistics. When semantic matching is enabled, anonymized answer text (no names, no photos) is processed via the Anthropic API to score content alignment. No image data, name data, or inferred demographic signal is ever used in ranking, matching, or sorting.

Cookies & analytics

We use only the cookies required for sign-in sessions (Supabase auth). No advertising trackers, no third-party ad pixels.

Where data lives

Data is stored with Supabase (Postgres database and file storage) and served via Netlify. Both are industry-standard providers with encryption in transit and at rest.

Your rights

You can edit your profile at any time, and you can request full deletion of your account and data by emailing mitch@ahumanhive.com — we'll complete it within 30 days. California and other state-law residents: we don't sell personal information. There is nothing to opt out of, because we never opted you in.
